Thursday Night Men’s league is looking for members for the 2008 season. Anyone interested in more information can contact John Lucas at johnlucas@quarryridge.com.
The Thursday Night Men’s league is a group from the Quarry Ridge Men’s Club that plays two-man team matches. The league starts in Mid April and runs 22 consecutive weeks. The league is open to members of the Quarry Ridge Men’s Club, LLC only.
The year long matches are broken into two halves. The first half winner will play the second half winner on a predetermined date to decide the Overall Champion. The runner up from the first half will play the runner up from the second half for third and fourth place.
The winners are determined by a point system. Each match is worth 3 points. Each member of the team will play a nine-hole match at 40 percent of their 18 Hole handicap for 1 point (match play). The team members will stoke the card off the low handicap player i.e. Player A is a 1 handicap and Player C is a 6 handicap. Player C will receive strokes on the 5 toughest holes according to the score card. The winner of the match will receive 1 point. If the competitors tie each player will receive one half of a point.
The third point is based on the number of gross holes the team wins during the match.
If any member cannot attend the member may find a substitute player. The substitute must be a member of the Men’s Club and have an established USGA handicap. If a substitute cannot be found the other member will play both competitors. The overall net score will be determined by drawing a net score from the field and the member's score combined. If both members cannot attend they will forfeit all three points to the team that came to the course and completed a 9 Hole round. |
